Simple tips to optimize computer performance and prevent errors!

July 25th, 20102 comments »

Computers will become running  slow down the more they are used unless routinely maintained to optimize computer performance. Once a computer is put on a regular schedule of maintenance, not only will the schedule optimize computer performance, but it will help to prevent common errors at the same time.

First Steps to Better Computer Performance

Either when the computer is first purchased, or at least before other maintenance tasks are addressed, a computer should be outfitted with anti-virus and anti-spyware software. If these are already in place, the updates may have expired. Make sure to renew these as often as required so that the computer is protected from the latest security threats.

If the computer has been in use for a while with little maintenance, chances are it may be time for disk defragmentation. Fragmentation occurs when data is saved in non-contiguous blocks of space. This can make retrieving files a slow process if the disk has to jump around to several spots to read the entire file. Find the Disk Defragmenter Tool under Accessories and then System Tools.

Finally, it may be a good idea to create a restore point. If the computer is running free of most errors at this time, then creating a restore point gives the computer something to restore back to if a major error occurs.

Ongoing Computer Maintenance for Optimization

Microsoft recommends that the Disk Check tool included on the PC should be run about once a week. This will fix any errors on the disk caused by program crashes or power outages.

o Under My Computer, select Properties
o Then the Tools tab
o Select “Check Now” under the Error-Checking Section

It is also advised to select the option to run the Disk Check tool next time the computer is restarted.

Temporary files can take up a lot of space on a computer, which will slow it down and lead to errors in the future. Eliminate some of the excess information on the PC by again going to Properties and clicking on Disk Cleanup. This will provide a list of files that can be deleted to free up space on the computer.

The Disk Defragmenter Tool should also be run regularly to keep files organized and easily accessible by the computer. Do this again monthly.

Kick Up Computer Optimization

To truly optimize computer performance and prevent a host of errors, maintaining the computer’s registry is key. The Windows registry stores hundreds of files that pertain to computer settings, program settings, and user preferences.

Entries can become cluttered when they are no longer needed and registry keys can become corrupted or go missing simply through normal computer use. Maintain Windows registry to optimize computer performance will provide the fastest computer and error messages will also disappear.

How to fix runtime error 13 with the easiest ways?

July 19th, 2010No comments »

If you understand the concepts of error 339, you will be able to fix runtime error 13, as it will enable you to locate the causes of this error. The run-time error 13  usually occurs when a DLL or OX file is either missing or not registered. This is a most common error which results in the system crashes often.

When it comes to runtime error 13, you must know that this error is due to a malware or malicious software which has come into the computer, or conflict with “Terminate and Stay Resident” programs, or similar running programs, or maybe due to conflict with software or memory. The runtime error 13 can result in the errors of Blue Screen of Death, freezing the system, its software and resulting in shutdown of windows. The runtime error 13 is usually seen on the screen as a dialog box with a particular code and its definitions. When you solve the runtime error 13 the software facing this problem will freeze or close by itself, or if it is a serious case, you may have to reboot the system.

Fixing runtime error 13 instantly?

1. Launch security scan and run it on the computer. On launching you will notice if there is Trojan or virus, destroying the DLL files, the system refuses to detect the file, and the screen will flash error 217. Thus it is necessary to get rid of all viruses in the system, and keep it clean.

2. You may have to reinstall the application which is resulting in the error 13. If you cannot do so, try to reach the website of the software program, and download the updated software and replace it.

3. To fix the run time error 13, fix the registry errors first. Though the anti-virus software removes the virus, it cannot repair the registry. In such a situation download the repair tools of the registry to fix the runtime error 13, which will eliminate future runtime errors as well. For fixing missing, malicious or invalid entries in the registry, Registry cleaner is the ultimate source, which will also take care of other errors of the system errors resulted by the registry, and enable your computer to be free of errors and perform in optimum condition.

You will realize that ultimately the fixing of error 13 is a job which you can handle by yourself, without seeking outside intervention or help. All that is required is to put on your thinking cap, go through the problem, understand it, and fix it easily! If you cannot spare time for this, call a technician, pay up for a thing which you could have done by yourself. How to optimize PC performance instantly for free?

July 15th, 20101 comment »

Having a computer which runs at slow performance and want to optimize it soon? Here, you will get the answers to optimize PC performance instantly.

Optimize Your PC by Lightening the Load it is Carrying

Most computers load a lot of programs each time they are turned on. Each application or program that the computer is asked to do simultaneously, extends the time that it takes the computer to startup. Some programs go unnoticed and are continually running as long as your computer is on, like highway robbery on your system’s process time.

Why not stop these programs from running all the time and access them only when necessary? First, make sure you set up a recovery point before plowing through your auto loading programs.

In Windows XP you will need to:

o Go through “start”
o To “all programs”
o Then to “accessories”
o And finally “system tools”
o There you will find a “system restore” tab. Click on it.
o Then “create a restore point”
o Make sure the restore point has a name you will remember

Now, to find your list of startup programs:

o Go back to start
o Click on run
o Type in msconfig
o Press enter
o In the window that pops up, you will need to click on the “startup” tab
o Uncheck the programs that you want to go without
o Each one will minimize your computer’s startup time as well as the probability that your computer will have errors.

Optimizing PC Performance While You Sleep

While you were in “system tools”, did you notice a “disk cleanup” and a “disk defragmenter”? These are tools that were built into your computer to help you maintain your machine. The disk cleanup helps remove clutter from your computer by doing things like emptying your recycling bin and deleting temporary internet files.

The disk defragmenter simply rearranges the files that are on your computer so that they are more easily accessed by your system. Running both of these tools will reduce the amount of errors you encounter as well as speed up your system’s process time.

Cleaning the Registry Optimizes PC Performance

Your computer’s registry is something like a military log. It is a record of what needs to be done at startup, what needs to be done at shut down and everything in between.

Here you will find a record of everything you have ever downloaded from the internet and every disk you have placed in the disk tray. Without it’s registry, your computer doesn’t know how to run.

Over time, the registry gets bogged down with unnecessary information. Some programs that you do not use anymore can be removed. Some programs that have been removed have left behind odd bits and pieces. And some sort of malware has probably infiltrated your registry at one point or another. Don’t worry, though. You can learn a lot of easy tricks to optimize PC performance.

Above are what you can do in daily life to optimize PC performance easily. And it is recommended that you should not let go of one of them if you want to always enjoy a faster computer with higher performance.

Want to optimize WIndows performance? We all know that a slow performance computer will make the computer alwar run at slow speed and then greatly reduce working efficiency. Here, simple steps will discuss how to optimize Windows performance.

To make sure that our computer system is operating at its optimal performance, we need to use software called registry cleaners. These cleaners can enable your operating system to perform at its peak. They scan your PC regularly for potential problems and prevent it from crashing whereby you will lose all your important documents and files. I am sure you understand how painful this is.

Registry cleaners optimize Windows performance by scanning the registry systematically and reorganize and re-match all relevant files with their respective programs. This PC cleaning software is also able to repair damaged files and recover lost files.

This PC cleaning software also comes in two modes – automatic and manual. When you select the automatic option, the cleaners scan, identify, fix and remedy the errors. Moreover, all the various types of errors are listed neatly for the PC user to see. For the manual option, the application works similarly to identify the errors. The difference is that it allows the user to decide on the action required after the errors are detected – whether to ignore or fix them.

A plus point about using such registry cleaners is that all repairs done previously are recorded and stored. All changes made in the past to the registry can be terraced easily and recovered if necessary. Once all the redundant files and problematic documents are eradicated, you will optimize Windows performance to a greater level of competency. You will notice a significance increase in speed and efficiency in the processing of programs and even the connection of your internet.

Nobody appreciates a sluggish and slow computer. Once you have used a registry cleaner, you can say goodbye to costly periodic checks by computer experts. The most effective and best registry cleaners can help remedy computers which are performing sluggishly. The best part is that these registry cleaners are affordable. Your PC can now perform at its peak when you optimize Windows performance.

To sum, with the above steps in daily life, you can always enjoy faster computer with higer performance.

What Should You Know When Taking Registry Repair For XP?

July 5th, 20104 comments »

Historically, when it came to the Windows operating systems what became known as registry bloat could become a serious problem effecting both the functioning and the stability of the operating system itself. However, as more recent or modern versions of Windows operating systems have come into use, concerns pertaining to what was known as registry bloat have been tempered at least to some degree. With this in mind, there can still be a need for registry repair XP by Windows.

At the outset, when considering registry repair XP, it is helpful to have a basic understanding why it might be necessary in the first instance. Registry repair XP is designed to remove unwanted or unnecessary items from the Windows operating system registry. By removing these items, the overall performance of the operating system can be improved.

When seeking registry repair XP you will want to find an application that specifically is tailored to XP and not to earlier versions of Windows. XP (and the other newer operating systems from Windows) have been differently designed to reduce the amount of unwanted and unnecessary items that accumulate in the registry. Therefore, a registry repair and cleanup system that will be effective – a specifically designed registry repair XP – will take the structure of the system well into account.

What Should You Do When Windows XP Crashed?

July 2nd, 20108 comments »

It will surely come sooner or later. And it usually happens at a point where you least expected it and you are in a middle of a very important task, or perhaps you are about to play your favorite game. Then the computer suddenly snaps, and the Windows XP crashed. For the beginner and a newbie in computers, the person will push the panic button. Of course those are expected, but remember that doing that will not solve anything. The moment you encounter that message that says ‘Windows cannot start because… .’, then it is imperative that you think logically and start looking at causes and things that can be done.

Computer and window crashes come in different types. For window crashes, these can be related to boot or start-up problems. What is known as the boot problem will refer to the hard drive partition, and the start-up problems of your pc should be linked to files or the software installed on the computer. Say you are typing your latest report for your school, then the computer crashes. There will be a boot or start-up error if the computer cannot load the windows and you will be prompted with an error message. You will see something on the screen as well either as a black screen or that ever-classic blue screen.

When that happens, be logical and make sure that you don’t format the hard drive. Others with some computer knowledge will attempt to repair the problem via a 3rd party utility or perhaps thru the use of the Windows Repair Console. This move is tricky and when performed the wrong way can be during more problems than solutions. This step may result in some documents that are installed in the folder. Just to be sure, try assessing the situation to know the root problem and to see what things can be done. Once the Windows XP crashed and the windows fail to boot and error points to a missing file, then what you can do is to run the Recovery console and run check disk. Use a 3rd party hard drive diagnostic and repair utility.

A third party recovery product that you can use may be from Symantec or Norton or any known provider. If the error message says that it can’t locate the ‘ntldr’ then use Windows XP boot CD to boot into the command prompt. Other CDs that may prove helpful include the Windows PE CD; download a PE CD builder in the internet. Then there’s the Hiren’s Boot CD, a 3rd party CD that was created for hardware repair and file management. If the windows do boot but cannot load windows, then attempt a safe mode boot. If the ‘Safe’ mode fails and just repeat the process and select the ‘Last Known Configuration’.

If that doesn’t work as well, then try VGA mode. Again if that doesn’t work, then try the Windows XP Recovery Console. This recovery console is located on the XP recovery CD. If you lost that one, then you may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer and request for one. Accessing the Windows XP recovery console requires the user to boot the computer from the CD and he has to follow the prompts to ‘Repair your Windows XP installation using the recovery console’.

When computer crashes, you can consider restoring your Windows registry trying to fix the computer. Believe me, it is a very effective way to get your computer back!
